Rosa Cartagena
I write about arts, entertainment, and culture in Philly.
Rosa Cartagena is a features reporter covering arts, entertainment, and culture for The Philadelphia Inquirer. She was previously the senior editor at Bitch: A Feminist Response to Pop Culture. She’s written about arts, race, gender, and lifestyle for The Washington Post, Bitch, Washingtonian, and Smithsonian. Her reporting includes an investigation into the complicated origins of the Britney Spears musical, a feature on Puerto Rico’s suffrage movement, and an ode to the super-sensitive Sailor Moon. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a double major in International Relations and French and a minor in Journalism. Outside of work, she performs Puerto Rican folkloric music, reads N.K. Jemisin, and blasts Bad Bunny.
