Maureen Fitzgerald is the Inquirer's former food editor. In 2011, she started a blog teaching her daughter to cook, which inspired her to start teaching healthy cooking lessons in an urban school. The program has been expanded over the last several years, staffed by readers who volunteer to teach kids to cook.

This spring, there are 62 volunteers teaching 31 classes at schools in Philadelphia and Camden.
