I write for the Opinion team about Philadelphia politics and policy, especially around policing, housing, and transportation.

My Background

Daniel Pearson is a Philadelphia native, Central High Grad, and Temple Made. After writing for the Inquirer and other local outlets on various topics, including his own experience as a Black child adopted transracially by white parents, motorized stop and frisk, and city policy, he joined the Opinion team as a writer in 2021. In the past, Daniel has worked for City government as an aide to City Commissioner Al Schmidt. Daniel lives in South Philadelphia with his wife and daughter.
