Takeaways from Kylie Kelce’s New York Times interview, from political views to podcast guests
Kylie Kelce wants Michelle Obama and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro as guests on ‘Not Gonna Lie!’
Kylie Kelce’s star power continues to grow. Her new podcast, Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce, recently reached No. 1 on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, passing The Joe Rogan Experience after her debut episode.
This week, she spoke with the New York Times in her first interview since her podcast premiered. Kelce talked about her podcast topping the charts, opened up about her political views, and revealed two special guests she would love to interview. Here are a few takeaways from Kelce’s interview …
Political views
Kelce, a mother of three who’s pregnant with a fourth daughter, revealed that her political views “aggressively lean” left and explained why she didn’t open up about her political opinions during the 2024 election.
Kelce recalled in the story how a caravan of cars waving Trump flags and signs “slow-rolled past” her Delaware County home, which is not located in gated community.
“To me, that was like, ‘We know where you live,’” she told the Times.

Meanwhile, speculation over Kelce’s political views in the run-up to the election varied wildly online, according to the story, with some claiming that her family was “MAGA” and others assuming she supported Kamala Harris because of her ties to Taylor Swift, who endorsed the Vice President and then-Democratic nominee.
Now that the election is over, Kelce is letting people know where she stands politically — regardless of how it makes them feel.
When asked if she was worried that her political views could cause a stir with fans online, she responded: “I mean this in the most respectful way. I don’t care what other people have to say.”
Future guests on the show?
Kelce’s new show, just three episodes in, has already featured some well-known guests — like It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Kaitlin Olson, content creator Allison Kuch, and host of Thursday Night Football Charissa Thompson.
But, there are a few political figures Kelce would love to have on in the future, including Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro.
“I would talk to Michelle Obama in a heartbeat, and I know she is not personally running,” she told the New York Times. “But I would love it if she would.”

‘I couldn’t care less about the charts’
Since Not Gonna Lie claimed the top spot in the U.S. on Apple and Spotify podcast charts, beating The Joe Rogan Experience and bringing out the haters, Kelce’s show hasn’t really fallen off.
“I’m focused on putting out content that people like to consume,” Kelce said. “If that puts us there for a week, cool. But I also don’t need to feed any conflict that’s created by it.”
Two weeks after its debut episode, Not Gonna Lie is still No. 1 on Apple Podcasts. On Spotify, Kelce’s and Rogan’s shows are trading between first and second place. But that’s not something Kelce is focused on.
“I couldn’t care less about the charts,” she said.
