Saquon Barkley doesn’t want to hear from critics on social media after spending a large part of Sunday with President Donald Trump.

After spending time golfing and hanging out with Trump at his golf course in Bedminster, N.J., Barkley took to social media to respond to critics of his trip.

In a post on X shared Monday morning, the Eagles’ All-Pro running back didn’t reveal any political beliefs but said his respect for the office of the president is “not a hard concept to understand.” He also pointed out he played golf recently with former President Barack Obama, which took place in October at Merion Golf Club at the invitation of Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie.

Barkley’s trip came one day ahead of the Eagles’ visit to the White House on Monday to celebrate their Super Bowl victory against the Kansas City Chiefs.

In addition to playing golf with the president, Barkley was seen sitting with Trump inside the club at a table covered with “Make America Great Again” hats of various colors in a viral photo initially shared by Newsmax host Rob Schmitt.

Later in the afternoon Sunday, Barkley traveled with Trump to Morristown (N.J.) Airport, where the two traveled back together to Washington on Air Force One.

Barkley got off the plane with a few other people including a boy carrying a football, whom Trump hugged, according to pool reports.

In a gaggle with reporters after landing, Trump called Barkley a great player. “I wanted to race him, but I decided not to,” Trump joked.

While Barkley obviously didn’t have any issue spending time with Trump, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts won’t be attending Monday’s ceremony at the White House.

This isn’t the first time Barkley spent time with Trump and his family. At J.P. Morgan’s tech summit last month, Barkley was spotted with Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, and her husband, Jared Kushner.
