With the Olympics coming up in less than a year, the 2025 Men's IIHF World Championship lineups are jam-packed with players aiming to wear their country's jersey come February. Here are five reasons Flyers fans should tune in beginning Friday through May 25, when the medals will be handed out (NHL Network, ESPN+, FuboTV).

1. The Travii

Best buddies, Travis Konecny and Travis Sanheim, will be back representing Canada after the two Flyers helped Canada win the 4 Nations Face-Off this past February. Sanheim starred at the tourney and has his sights set on an Olympic spot.

2. Tyson Foerster

It's been a few years since he wore the maple leaf, but after potting 25 goals and 43 points this season, the Flyers winger is back. Foerster brings a gold medal with him from the 2022 World Juniors, where he had three goals and six points.

3. Sam Ersson

Ersson joked he was a maybe for Worlds, but he has undoubtedly risen on Tre Kronor's depth chart. The goalie had one of the most-talked-about performances at 4 Nations and will not be third-string this time, playing at home in Sweden.

4. Canada's stacked roster

Canada brought the big guns. Aside from the Flyers, the Canadian roster is filled with superstars like Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon, and Macklin Celebrini. And how good is this lineup? Marc-André Fleury pushed retirement a month to play.

5. Is this the year for the U.S.?

The Americans haven't won gold since 1960, but have been in the bronze medal game three of the last four tournaments. Loaded with young stars like Logan Cooley, Will Smith, Clayton Keller, and Jeremy Swayman in net, the U.S. has a chance.
