The 105th iteration of the Memorial Cup, Canada's top junior hockey tournament, begins Friday and runs through June 1. The winners of the CHL's three leagues — London of the OHL, Medicine Hat of the WHL, and Moncton of the QMJHL — join the host, Rimouski, in the field. Here are four things Flyers fans need to know.

London returns after losing to Saginaw in 2024, giving Flyers prospects Denver Barkey and Oliver Bonk one more chance at glory before turning pro. Barkey, the captain, is good to go after suffering an ankle injury in the OHL playoffs.

2. Spencer Gill is out injured

Rimouski blueliner Spencer Gill will need at least three more weeks to heal from a broken ankle and will miss the tourney. Despite the shortened season, the 6-foot-4 Flyers prospect impressed Philly with his improved skating.

3. Brotherly love?

Flyers fans should watch top draft prospect Caleb Desnoyers of Moncton closely. A two-way, playmaking center and the younger brother of Elliot Desnoyers, he posted 30 points in 17 QMJHL games and could be the Flyers' pick at No. 6.

GMs will be watching the 2025 draft class, but the projected top pick for 2026, Gavin McKenna, should also turn heads. The Medicine Hat star, 17, set a CHL modern-era point streak record (54 games) and posted 129 points in 56 WHL games.
