Police bodycam footage has revealed more details in the arrest of a mayor in Burlington County, New Jersey.

Police went to the home of Lumberton mayor Gina LaPlaca, 45, on March 17, after a resident called 911 to report that she was driving erratically.

In the video, per NBC10, officers approached LaPlaca in her driveway, after she took her son out of his car seat. LaPlaca loses her balance twice in the video and the mirror on the passenger side of her vehicle is damaged.

While performing a sobriety check, LaPlaca can be seen stumbling and losing her balance.

She admitted to police that she had been drinking vodka and police found a water bottle filled with alcohol and a small liquor bottle in the vehicle.

LaPlaca is accused of driving while intoxicated, having an open container or unsealed cannabis in a vehicle, driving with an expired license, endangering a child, careless and reckless driving, and traffic on marked lane.

Her husband, Jason Carty, said on social media that LaPlaca has been been struggling with addiction and is seeking treatment.

A member of the Lumberton Township Committee has called for LaPlaca’s resignation.
