Eagles’ Super Bowl victory parade will be Friday, team says, city confirms
The city has confirmed the parade will be Friday.

It happened.
Despite fears of jinxing things or speaking too soon, the Eagles have indeed won the Super Bowl. Now fans want — no, need — to know something they’ve been asking for weeks: When is the parade?
And now it’s official, the parade will be Friday, according to both the City of Philadelphia and the team. Other details, including the time and the route, haven’t been announced yet.
Here’s what we know so far.
What have the city and Eagles said so far?
“The City can confirm the Eagles celebration will be on Friday, February 14,” officials posted on social media on Monday. The post said additional details would be released together with the team.
The news follows rumors that the parade would take place that day — which is also Valentine’s Day — after the team posted three separate times — deleting two earlier posts — on X, “See ya Friday” and a wink emoji.
On WIP Monday, Eagles president Don Smolenski said, “We are holding Friday. Friday will be the day. We’re going to do something tomorrow with the city, but I think we put something out last night that said ‘See you Friday.’”
Smolenski said that the Eagles and the city were watching out for the bad weather and added, “One extra day of planning doesn’t hurt. You know what, it’s a nice way to kick off the weekend.”
The city confirmed the parade would be on Friday and promised to released more details along with the team soon.
This story will be updated as more details are released.
How could the weather forecast affect parade planning?
Depending on your taste, the weather this week in Philly won’t be much to celebrate. Friday is the safest choice for a Super Bowl parade to honor the victorious Eagles.
After a dry Monday, snow is expected by Tuesday afternoon, continuing into Wednesday, said Joe DeSilva, meteorologist with the National Weather Service Office in Mount Holly.
This won’t be a mega-storm, maybe 3 or 4 inches in the city, but it will be around for 36 hours, he said.
Rain is possible Thursday morning, but the afternoon likely will be dry, he said.
Friday should be sunny with highs in the mid-30s. More precipitation is possible Saturday.
What happened with the 2018 Eagles’ Super Bowl parade?
In 2018, the Eagles’ Super Bowl parade happened the Thursday following the game. It was originally planned for Wednesday, but weather conditions pushed things back a day. City offices, courts, and schools were closed for the occasion. Beyond weather, city scheduling and team travel are also determinants for setting the parade’s date.
The 2018 route headed up Broad Street, through Center City, and along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
The formal celebration and parade then lasted about two hours. Several roads were closed and there was a steady heap of traffic delays — so if you don’t have off from work, plan accordingly.
In 2018, the Eagles’ Super Bowl victory celebration cost $2.27 million, with both the team and the state chipping in. City taxpayers paid the remaining $1.5 million. Expenses included police and employee labor, security costs, and repairs to city equipment and property damaged during the celebrations. Those figures were released about two months after the parade took place.
You can also expect a lot of people — like a lot, a lot. In 2018, Inquirer archives show thousands of attendees lined the streets. Some began gathering the night before. Some climbed trees to get a good view. Some fans even scattered the ashes of their loved ones along the route.
