House of the Week: A three-bedroom stand-alone rowhouse in South Philadelphia for $905,000
The house has a roof deck, parking space, and storage shed.

Personal trainer Raquel Gronski loved the block in South Philadelphia where her friend and client, a builder, owned a lot. So Gronski and her husband, David, decided to build a home there.
“I tried to do both farmhouse and city chic,” said Raquel Gronski. “I wanted that warmth when you walk in.”
For Raquel and David, a chief actuary at an insurance company, it was a natural time to build something new, as the youngest of their five children was about to graduate from high school where they were living, in Mount Laurel, N.J.
The three-bedroom, three-bathroom house was completed in 2020 after about a year of construction. The couple has been alternating between the house and a home they own in Puerto Rico.
The house, which has a remaining five-year tax abatement, is 1,896 square feet. The property also includes a parking space and a storage shed in back.
It has 11-foot ceilings and 9-foot wood panel doors throughout.
Through the front entrance is a sitting area.
The kitchen has a backdrop of whitewashed German smear brick, a farmhouse island and range, and LG appliances including a built-in microwave.
Two bedrooms are on the middle level, with a full bathroom and stackable washer and dryer.
The primary bedroom is on the third floor, with a full bathroom and custom tile around the fixtures, and overhead shower option.
PEX polyethylene plumbing provides a constant flow of hot water on demand.
The home has a roof deck, which has a cedar pergola with a fabric shade and epoxy flooring.
The finished basement has an office, which currently also serves as a workout room, and a full bathroom.
The house is listed by Jennifer Thompson of RE/MAX One Realty for $905,000.
