World Series Odds 2025: Betting Favorites
Los Angeles Dodgers +400
The Los Angeles Dodgers lived up to the hype last season, defeating the Yankees in five games to win the World Series. Los Angeles accomplished this feat despite missing impact players Dustin May, Tyler Glasnow, Tony Gonsolin, and Clayton Kershaw.
Los Angeles superstar lineup remains intact, with Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, and Freddie Freeman back in the fold. Teoscar Hernandez and Jack Flaherty are heading to free agency, but the Dodgers are always ready to make a big move.
There’s a good chance the Dodgers remain the World Series favorite throughout the offseason.
New York Yankees + 800
The New York Yankees had a successful bounce-back season. After missing the 2023 playoffs, they made the World Series for the first time since 2009. It was a tough ending to a great season, but now, a crucial offseason begins.
The big question is whether Juan Soto will be with the team next season. He had a great first season in New York but heads into free agency with a ton of suitors. If he stays with the Yankees, they’ll be the team to beat in the American League. If not, they likely won’t be the favorite.
Keep an eye on Soto’s status before wagering on the Yankees to win the 2025 World Series.
Atlanta Braves + 800
The Atlanta Braves were one of the league’s biggest disappointments. Atlanta started 26-13 but didn’t impress anyone with a 63-60 finish. The Braves failed to win a playoff game after losing Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuna Jr.
Acuna should return early in the season, but the pitching staff remains a question mark. Max Fried and Charlie Morton are free agents, while Strider and Chris Sale deal with injuries.
The Braves have a high ceiling, but it’s hard to see them entering the season as the favorite in the NL East.
2025 World Series Odds: Underdogs to watch
San Diego Padres +1300
The San Diego Padres were aggressive at last year’s trade deadline, and it paid off with an amazing second half. Ultimately, the Padres fell short against the Dodgers in the NLDS, but they should be back in contention in 2025.
Joe Musgrove will miss the season, but San Diego has plenty of options in the rotation, including Dylan Cease and Michael King. Trade acquisition Tanner Scott could leave in free agency. Still, the Padres have enough pieces to have an elite bullpen.
The Padres aren’t afraid to make big moves. They should be a big player in free agency and the trade market.
Detroit Tigers +4000
One of the biggest surprises of the 2024 season was the Detroit Tigers making a late postseason run. The Tigers went 31-13 down the stretch to make the playoffs. They defeated the Astros before losing to the Guardians in the ALDS.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Tigers can sustain that same magic. Detroit has an elite frontline starter with Tarik Skubal. The offense could use some work, but they likely won’t lose any key free agents.
The Tigers are a team to watch in the offseason. One big move should put them among the top teams in the American League.
