African Restaurant Week

Gospel on Independence

(Music) An incredible lineup of local artists, choirs and musicians are heading to Independence Mall to lift up the sounds of gospel music. Bring a blanket or chair and get ready for a soul-stirring performance designed to uplift you. This year’s performance will feature special guest and GRAMMY nominated artist Marvin Sapp.

Independence Day Fireworks

(Community) It’s not a Fourth of July celebration without a spectacular fireworks display. Head to the Delaware River Waterfront and catch the show from a range of spots along the water including Race Street Pier, Cherry Street Pier and Spruce Street Harbor Park.

Concilios Hispanic Fiesta

Phila Flea Market

(Community) Also known at The Philly Flea, this marketplace is one of the oldest organized flea market groups in Philadelphia. Come shop a variety of items, including vintage and antique finds you won’t find elsewhere. You never know when you’ll find your next gem.

Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival

(Community) Franklin Square’s annual illuminated festival is back. This year’s festival features more than 1,100 individual sculptures placed in larger than life lantern displays. Your ticket includes three main-stage live performances every night and all of the glowing lantern displays.

Latino Arts & Film Festival

(Movies) Film lovers, this one’s for you. Enjoy well crafted cinematic magic created by established and emerging Latino filmmakers. The festival will include feature films, shorts, animations, web series and documentaries, as well as workshops and discussions.

Dining Under the Stars in Media

Festival of Fountains

(Community) A visit to Longwood Gardens is a must on your spring and summer bucket lists. All spring and summer, the fountains in the gardens come to live, with some jets blasting as high as 175 feet. Whether you stroll through during the daytime, or catch an illuminated night time performance, you’re bound to have a great time.

The best events for kids in Philly

It’s the end of June in Philly, so, obviously, Fourth of July is well underway. Enjoy free museum days, plus pool, block, and park parties, an author reading, and fireworks.

Hispanic Fiesta

(Culture / free) LOVE Park hosts Concillio’s huge block party downtown, featuring a colorful Hispanic Parade of Flags, tons of food, and live music — capped off by an 8 p.m. performance from Ivy Queen. Ages 5 and up.

Pershing’s Own Concert and Fireworks
