Mayor Cherelle L. Parker speaks after striking a deal with DC 33 union

Philadelphia will resume regular trash collection on Monday, Mayor Cherelle L. Parker said during a news conference at City Hall Wednesday. An emotional Parker expressed appreciation of several members of her administration who were key to the city’s operations throughout the work stoppage. Later, the mayor spoke directly to DC 33 president Greg Boulware — who told reporters early Wednesday that “the strike is over and nobody’s happy" — and said, “I know that we gonna need some healing time.”
