Swiss man receives double hand transplant at Penn Medicine

Penn performed a double hand transplant Luka Krizanac, 28, from Switzerland, who lost his limbs to sepsis as a child. Krizanac is only the fifth person to receive such a surgery at Penn, and one of about 50 in the world. Some 100 people have had at least one hand transplant since the first was completed in 1999.
