Girl injured in shooting at SEPTA station on Broad Street Line
The shooting happened on the Cecil B. Moore station platform outside the payment turnstiles.

Police are investigating a shooting at the Cecil B. Moore station on SEPTA’s Broad Street Line in North Philadelphia that left a teenage girl with a gunshot wound to the leg Tuesday afternoon.
The shooting happened at 1 p.m. on the station’s northbound side in an area of the platform outside the payment turnstiles, a SEPTA spokesperson said. According to police, the victim, a 17-year-old girl, was struck in her right leg and taken to Temple University Hospital for treatment, where she was in stable condition shortly after the incident.
Following the shooting, northbound Broad Street Line trains were bypassing the Cecil B. Moore stop as police investigated. Normal service resumed just before 3 p.m., but residual delays were possible, SEPTA said on social media.
It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting. An initial review of surveillance video ahead of the incident showed two men arguing with one another before a gunshot went off, the SEPTA spokesperson said. Police confirmed the shooting appeared to stem from an argument.
SEPTA is providing assistance to the Philadelphia Police Department, which is leading the investigation, the authority’s spokesperson said.
Investigators recovered three fired 9mm cartridge casings from the scene, and are looking for the shooter, police said.
