2025 NFL draft: Eagles add four more defenders and a QB on Day 3; Howie Roseman addresses Dallas Goedert situation
The Eagles also picked up three offensive lineman — Boston College's Drew Kendall and Michigan's Myles Hinton, and Texas' Cameron Williams.

The Eagles made eight picks the third and final day of the 2025 NFL draft: Nebraska DT Ty Robinson (4-111) | Central Florida CB MacWilliams (5-145) | Georgia LB Smael Mondon Jr. (5-161) | Boston College C Drew Kendall (5-168) | Syracuse QB Kyle McCord (6-181) | Michigan T Myles Hinton (6-191) | Texas OT Cameron Williams (6-207) | Virginia Tech DE Antwaun Powell-Ryland (6-209)
On Friday, the Eagles drafted safety Andrew Mukuba in the second round, and traded away their third-round pick. On Thursday, the Birds landed Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell.
Jeff McLane explores what picking Mukuba says about Sydney Brown, Vic Fangio, and the Eagles’ future at safety.

Howie Roseman addresses Dallas Goedert situation
The 2025 NFL draft ended without the Eagles drafting a tight end, despite dangling Dallas Goedert on the trade market this offseason.
Eagles general manager Howie Roseman told reporters there were moments during the draft where they came “close” to taking a tight end, but opted to stay true to their draft board.
As for Goedert’s future with the Eagles, Roseman was noncomittal.

Andrew Mukuba and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. were once roommates
Andrew Mukuba said Saturday he tends to study similarly sized players at his position like Arizona Cardinals defensive back Budda Baker and Detroit Lions defensive back Brian Branch.
“I like to watch guys typically that have my body type and body frame,” Mukuba said. “I can’t really do as much as a guy who is 6-3. I like to watch guys that are my height and my size that kind of move the same to just kind of see what they do and add it to my game.”
Mukuba started 31 games for Clemson over three seasons before transferring to Texas. During his time at Clemson, Mukuba said he spent one year with Eagles linebacker and former Tiger Jeremiah Trotter Jr. as his roommate.
Eagles use their final two picks on an offensive lineman and edge rusher
Offensive line continued to be a focus of the end of Day 3, as the Eagles selected Texas right tackle Cameron Williams with their sixth-round, No. 207-overall pick.
The 6-foot-5, 317-pound Williams is just 21 years old, serving as a full-time starter for one year at Texas. Although he is relatively inexperienced, he has the requisite length needed to thrive at the position, possessing a 84.5-inch wingspan (91st percentile).
Williams missed one game in 2024 due to a knee injury that required surgery in the offseason, so it is unclear whether he will fully healthy come training camp.
Kyle McCord could be the Eagles' next low-cost backup QB
The quarterback factory got its newest addition Saturday, with the Eagles selecting former St. Joe’s Prep standout and Syracuse prospect Kyle McCord with the 181st pick in the draft.
While it’s hard to envision McCord climbing much on the depth chart in the short-term, he could eventually serve as a low-cost backup quarterback in the same way Tanner McKee will this upcoming season. Similar to McCord, McKee was a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft.
Another similarity between the two signal callers is college experience. McCord started 26 games over his four-year career, which began at Ohio State before the Mt. Laurel native transferred to Syracuse for his senior season. He completed 66% of his passes and threw for 4,779 yards, 34 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last season while leading the Orange to a 10-3 record.

Eagles draft Michigan OT Myles Hinton in sixth round
The Eagles picked up another offensive lineman late on Day 3, selecting Michigan tackle Myles Hinton with their sixth-round, No. 191-overall pick.
Hinton has a hulking frame at 6-foot-6, 323 pounds, a trait that Jeff Stoutland covets at the position. The 23-year-old Hinton has some positional versatility, starting 19 games at right tackle and 12 games at left tackle over the course of two seasons at Michigan (2023-24) and three at Stanford (2020-22). However, he exclusively played at left tackle in 2024 and arguably had his best season to date.
He is explosive for his size, posting a 31.5-inch vertical jump at the combine, which ranks in the 85th percentile among offensive linemen.
QB Will Howard, former Downingtown West star, heading to Pittsburgh
Will Howard, the former Downingtown West star, was drafted No. 185 by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round of the draft. Howard, the 6-foot4, 236 pound quarterback who led Ohio State to a national championship, finished with 4,010 yards and 35 touchdowns in his final college season.
Howard spent his first four seasons at Kansas State, and became the starter in 2022 full-time. He lead the Wildcats to a Big 12 title that season.
Now, he’s headed to Pittsburgh. He was picked four spots after Kyle McCord, whom he followed at Ohio State at quarterback.

Eagles draft Syracuse QB Kyle McCord in sixth round
Kyle McCord is coming home.
The Eagles drafted the former St. Joseph’s Prep quarterback with pick No. 181, adding another quarterback to their room.
McCord played one season at Syracuse after beginning his college career at Ohio State. He threw for 34 touchdowns against 12 interceptions and completed 66% of his passes in his lone season with the Orange.
South Jersey prospect Miles Fraizer heading to Detroit
Miles Frazier, the former Woodrow Wilson High School standout from Camden, N.J., was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft.
The 6-foot-6, 317 pound offensive linemen started his college career at Florida International, starting in 10 of 11 games at left tackle as a redshirt freshman in 2021. He spent two years at FIU, then three at LSU, where he started 28 games right guard, nine at left guard, and two at right tackle.
At the Senior Bowl, Frazier took snaps at both guard and tackle, and for his efforts during the week, was named the top offensive linemen on the American team, as voted on by his peers.
Eagles turn to offense, draft Boston College C Drew Kendall
The Eagles finally drafted an offensive player after using their first five picks on defense.
The Eagles drafted Boston College center Drew Kendall with the 168th pick. Kendall, who is 6-4 and 308 pounds, was a first-team All-ACC selection this past season. His father, Pete, played offensive line for four teams over a 13-year career.
Kendall only played center in college, and he was just taken by a team that signed a Pro Bowl center, Cam Jurgens, to a contract extension that keeps him with the Eagles through 2029. Thus, Kendall figures to be a depth piece in the offensive line room, though the Eagles did announce him as a center/guard.

Eagles draft LB Smael Mondon Jr., adding yet another Georgia defender
Another Georgia Bulldog, come on down.
The Eagles selected Georgia linebacker Smael Mondon Jr. with the 161st pick in the draft.
That makes eight Georgia players on the Eagles, all on the defensive side of the ball.
Eagles draft Central Florida CB Mac McWilliams in fifth round
The Eagles continued to add to their secondary on Saturday, selecting Central Florida cornerback Mac McWilliams with their fifth-round, No. 145-overall pick.
McWilliams is a 5-foot-10, 191-pound cornerback who projects as a fit for the slot at the NFL level. He was a one-year starter at outside cornerback at Central Florida, having transferred in 2024 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
The 23-year-old McWilliams is heralded for his speed, running a 4.41 40-yard dash at the combine. While he’s capable of making plays on the ball, racking up 27 pass breakups throughout his four seasons as a college starter, he has only registered a total of two interceptions.
Browns trade ahead of Birds to nab Shedeur Sanders
Once expected to be a first round pick in the 2025 NFL draft, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, son of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, finally saw his slide end in the fifth round on Saturday.
With the 144th pick in the draft, the Cleveland Browns drafted Sanders, one night after selecting Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel in the third round.
Sanders joins a Cleveland quarterback room that now features former Eagles quarterback Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, Deshaun Watson (recovering from torn achilles), and Gabriel.

Eagles draft Nebraska DT Ty Robinson in fourth round
The Eagles are adding some versatility to their defensive front.
With their fourth round, No. 111-overall pick in the draft on Saturday, the Eagles selected defensive tackle Ty Robinson out of Nebraska.
The 6-foot-5, 288-pound Robinson was a five-year starter at Nebraska, lining up across the interior defensive line in a number of spots. At nearly 24 years old, he has plenty of collegiate experience, starting in 47 games over the course of his career.
Giants have had an impressive draft so far
With the obvious caveat that time will tell on how it all works out, it's easy to like what the Giants have done so far in this draft after they just took Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo with the third pick in the fourth round.
Skattebo became the first Division I FBS player to have 1,500 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards since Christian McCaffrey did it in 2015. He scored 21 rushing touchdowns and had three touchdown receptions.
The lack of eye-popping athleticism makes projecting Skattebo so difficult, but he’s a powerful runner and has proved difficult to tackle. But his straight-line speed isn’t all that impressive. How much does that matter? We’ll find out.
Who did the Eagles draft in the fourth round last year?
Here’s a look at the players the Eagles have taken in the fourth round over the past decade:
2024: Will Shipley, RB, Clemson
2023: Kelee Ringo, CB, Georgia
2021: Zech McPhearson, DB, Texas Tech
2020: K’Von Wallace, S, Clemson; Jack Driscoll, G, Auburn
2019: Shareef Miller, DE, Penn State
2018: Avonte Maddox, CB, Pittsburgh; Josh Sweat, DE, Florida St.
2017: Mack Hollins, WR, North Carolina
Titans take WR Chimere Dike with first pick of the fourth round
The final day of the 2025 NFL draft is offically underway, with the Tennessee Titans kicking off the fourth round by taking Florida wide receiver Chimere Dike with the No. 103 overall pick.
As of now, the Eagles have two fourth round picks — No. 111 and No. 130. But that could change with Howie Roseman running things.
Jeff Lurie tells Andrew Mukuba 'You're gonna play for a great team'
Five things to know about Eagles second-round pick Andrew Mukuba
His Clemson connections. Before transferring to Texas in 2023, Mukuba played his first three collegiate seasons at Clemson, where he was on the same team as Will Shipley and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. During that time, he was named ACC defensive rookie of the year.
His Zimbabwe roots. Mukuba was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, before immigrating to Austin, Texas with his family. The four-star recruit attended Lyndon B. Johnson High School as a two-sport athlete in track and field and football, with offers from LSU and Texas.
His ‘nothing is given to me’ mentality. In DCTF, he discussed growing up in Harare. “There was a time when we would go two or three nights, maybe a whole week without electricity…That’s when I learned, at a really young age, that nothing is given to me — I have to go earn it."
Running back to receiver to DB. Before attending a camp at the University of Texas where he found his calling as a defensive back, Mukuba first started playing as a running back in the fifth grade. Eventually in high school, he transitioned to wide receiver.
“Mukuba Bowl." During the first round of the College Football Playoff, Mukuba’s Texas Longhorns matched up against his former team, the Clemson Tigers. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney dubbed the game “Mukuba Bowl.” Texas ended the game victorious, 38-24.

Eagles 2025 draft pick tracker
On Friday, the Eagles snagged Texas safety Andrew Mukuba in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft, but opted to trade out of the third round late in the evening.
Here's a list of all the Eagles' picks:
Eagles beat writer gives a thumbs up to the Birds drafting Andrew Mukuba... for now
The knocks on Andrew Mukuba lead with the lack of size and strength more commonly seen at the safety position in the NFL. He’s just 5-11 and has short arms and small hands. It’s a cornerback’s body, which makes sense considering Mukuba has some nickel in his background.
But Mukuba's size was not a concern to the Eagles, with Howie Roseman noting that Mukuba has a nose for the ball and "a feel for making big-time plays in big-time moments."
The Eagles need that to translate considering Mukuba will have every opportunity to earn the starting safety spot vacated by C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who led the Eagles with six interceptions last season.
Day 3 draft options for the Eagles
Here’s a look at eight players who could fit various needs for the Eagles on Day 3:
EDGE/DT Elijah Roberts, Southern Methodist
This isn’t your prototypical edge rusher. The 23-year-old Roberts measured in at 6-foot-3½, 285 pounds at the combine, boasting the build of a slightly lighter-than-average defensive lineman. While he primarily lined up as an edge rusher at Southern Methodist, his prospective NFL team may find him versatile enough to reduce inside. He uses his long arms (33⅝ arm length) and staggering strength to set the edge in the run game. He also has some speed-to-power pass-rush ability and a knack for finishing, as evidenced by his 17½ sacks in his last 17 games (team leader in sacks in 2024 and 2023). Roberts reportedly took a top-30 visit to the Eagles.
Eagles GM Howie Roseman explains trading out of third round
In the waning moments of the NFL draft Friday night, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman traded down, then out of the third round, amassing a few extra picks in return.
Speaking to reporters following Day 2 of the draft, Roseman said the Eagles were looking for opportunities to trade up, but ultimately focused on amassing more picks, including an extra fifth-round pick next year.
“Not saying that we don’t have things we don’t want to improve on this football team right now, because we do,” Roseman said. “Having six picks [Saturday] is a great opportunity to improve our football team on the third day. It’s a really fun day for us.”
