Which Super Bowl team is the best dressed? Stacking up Eagles’ and Chiefs’ best fits.
In a battle of the tunnel outfits at Super Bowl 2025, we wanted to know: Does Jalen Hurts or Travis Kelce reign supreme?

Lombardi Trophy this. MVP that. When are we going to talk about the real point of Sunday’s big game, the fashion?
The Super Bowl is shaping up to be a tooth-and-nail match up in New Orleans between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, who are going for their third Super Bowl victory in a row after first beating the Eagles in Arizona in 2023.
But this isn’t about that. The real competition is in the pregame tunnel, where both the Chiefs and Eagles are known for wearing custom-made suits, recently released streetwear, and designer bags before taking to the field. The tunnel is a runway, and we want to know who owns it.
In a bit of good-natured trash talking, the Kansas City Star and the Inquirer decided to see which team has the supreme sense of style. Star reporter Lisa Gutierrez and Inquirer reporter Beatrice Forman sound off on the Eagles' and Chiefs’ best pregame fits.
Here’s how the Eagles’ starters stack up against the Chiefs’ starters (fashion edition).
Chiefs
DeAndre Hopkins
LISA GUTIERREZ: Like a growing list of NFL players, DeAndre Hopkins has walked a runway at Paris Fashion Week.
The Chiefs wide receiver and 12-year NFL veteran is a king of tunnel fits with a lifelong love of fashion that has placed him on fashion show runways and led to a new 60-piece capsule collection with BoohooMAN.
The collaboration echoes the 32-year-old’s avant-garde style. Elevated streetwear. Washed finishes. Matching ensembles. Relaxed silhouettes that somehow look tailored.
“When people think of football players, they think tough or mean, and guys that tackle,” he told Billboard.
But when players wear cool things, he said, “I think it gives us a certain light that allows the audience to appreciate us more as people.”
His take on a suit? This crisp white shirt, patterned tie and deconstructed coat he wore to the AFC championship game on Jan. 26.
BEATRICE FORMAN: Hopkins is actually a signed model with with IMG, which will make for a good off-season career after the Eagles embarrass the Chiefs out of a third-straight Super Bowl win Sunday.
Hopkins may be the self-proclaimed “best dressed player in all of sports,” according to a GQ interview from 2019, but his AFC championship pregame look falls flat to someone much more used to, say, Jalen Hurts’ monochromatic ‘fits or Devonta Smith’s sharp suits. This deconstructed denim jacket looks like something a Project Runway contestant would send down the runway after they’ve run out of time: Half-baked and rough-around-the-edges, kind of like the Chief’s O-line strategy.
JuJu Smith-Schuster
LG: The last time the Chiefs and Eagles met in the Super Bowl, the Kansas City wide receiver walked into the stadium in a pleated Thom Browne skirt and chunky Fendi combat boots — and wound up in Vogue.
“This (expletive) not for everybody,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories.
That’s his style — anything he wants to wear.
One day the 28-year-old could be in an old-school varsity in a sweater inspired by mid-1900s athletic Ivy League wardrobe. Next game, he’s in a luxurious cropped black leather bomber jacket trimmed in sheepskin.
What else from a man who makes commercials for Temu and wears Louis Vuitton?
Here, arriving Oct. 7 for the “Monday Night Football” game, he punctuated black streetwear with a pinstripe dress shirt, a navy beret and pearls around his neck because … why not?

BF: A Kangol beret, a black tee, and a chunky belt? Jalen Hurts did it better — even if he didn’t do it first. Next.
In all seriousness, though, I do have a soft spot for Smith-Schuster as someone who is also getting paid to talk a little bit of trash. The Chiefs wide-receiver is unafraid to play with fashion, even in the face of lame dude-bro criticism. Smith-Schuster’s kilted 2023 Super Bowl ‘fit was ultra-polarizing but that didn’t stop him from rolling up to games in comically oversized suits or — well — the nearly impossible to pull off blazer-over-a-hoodie combo. Respect.
Charles Omenihu
LG: The Chiefs defensive end keeps a close eye these days on Houston Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs, whom he considers one of the biggest names in NFL fashion at the moment.
“My goal is to get that sort of respect. I’m serious about fashion. I’ve gone to Paris. I’ve done work with Feng Chen Wang. It’s more than just a passion,” Omenihu, 27, told NFL.com’s Cameron Wolfe at the Super Bowl in New Orleans this week.
Omenihu, assisted by personal shoppers, typically opts for New York-style streetwear for game days.
He devotes at least one custom fit each season to his Nigerian heritage, which last season he showed off on his Instagram with this: “I told ‘em I’m a giant, real African giant … Self-confident self reliant.”
He arrived at the AFC championship game on Jan. 26 strapped into Michael Jackson-esque pants inspired by the style of Atlanta rapper Gunna.
BF: Omenihu is yet another Kansas City Chiefs player who thinks they’re the pinnacle of style.
“Every day, I get fashion. I’m a model rockstar,” Omenihu captioned an Instagram slideshow of himself at Paris Fashion Week in yet another cropped leather jacket. At least he knows what works for him, I guess.
Omenihu has said his style evolution has been years in the making, telling NFL.com in 2022 that he “was nervous to step out of the box” during his first few seasons in the league as a defensive lineman for the Houston Texans. Now, Omenihu claims he styles himself (with help from those personal shoppers) and — well — we can tell.
A statement jacket and jeans? Groundbreaking.
Travis Kelce
LG: One word to describe his look: Fearless.
And yes, that’s a not-so-veiled reference to Taylor Swift.
But it’s also the guiding style principle of a man who went viral in a mustard-colored Teddy Vonranson suit with a striped turtleneck that looked like a Cheesecake Factory take-out bag.
The man who wore a black sequined custom suit by Amiri to the Super Bowl last year. High shine for Vegas, baby.
Kelce, 35, loves fashion. He’s worn head-to-toe Louis Vuitton on game days. He inspired an Instagram, Style by Kelce.
He’s a self-described impulse shopper who likes the thrill of throwing a look together at the last minute. You don’t like his clothes? He’s not offended. He uses fashion to make people smile.
He ruled the tunnel fits at the AFC Championship game on Jan. 26 in this custom, camel-colored Thom Browne suit with coordinating striped beanie.

BF: I’m going to play nice because his girlfriend is an Eagles fan first and foremost, no matter how many times Kelce forces Swift into Chiefs red (or his fans take out billboards saying otherwise).
Unlike his brother Jason — who spent most of his NFL career wearing flip flops and sweats to games — Travis likes to take big swings with fashion. Sometimes he hits a home run, like when he wore a perfectly tailored cropped tweed boucle suit for his 2024 Super Bowl tunnel walk. Or the time he rocked a cobalt blue corduroy set just to deboard the Chief’s jet in San Jose, Calif. this October. Or the time … you get the picture. I’m being kind.
Other times, he misses, like when he wore what really is just a khaki suit and a beanie to the AFC championship. Yawn.
Eagles
Saquon Barkley
BF: Saquon Barkley had a banner first season as an Eagle: MVP finalist, likely to break the record for all-time rushing yards, recently engaged.
But for this reporter — who couldn’t even tell you what a running back does — this was also the year that Barkley developed his sense of style as a fashion chameleon. Barkley’s former Penn State football teammate Joshua McPhearson became his stylist this year and the pair have formed a bond so tight that Barkley sometimes won’t even try on McPhearson’s picks before he wears them.
McPhearson says Barkley’s style is “elusive,” marked by a mix of chic runway pieces and streetwear looks. “Saquon can be seen wearing a suit and look very normal just as much as he can wear all the streetwear clothes,” McPhearson previously told The Inquirer. “Some people don’t look good in suits. Some people don’t look good in streetwear. He looks good in both.”
This season saw Saquon rolling up to games in a red leather bomber jacket from Isabel Marant one week and a Prada necktie another week, with even a Canadian tuxedo from designer Kenzo thrown into the mix.
To kick Barkley’s time with the Eagles off, McPhearson had Barkley bring an oversized Birkin to the team’s week 1 match-up against the Green Bay Packers. His hot pink Chrome Heart jeans were just the cherry on top.

LG: I will say this: Barkley walked the runway at the Met Gala four years before Patrick Mahomes did. Kudos for that. As a Giants running back at the time, he (rightfully) showed off those massive quads in a black tuxedo with shorts, ala LeBron James.
But this look? I can hear Anna Wintour yawning. Try harder.
I think this was his first fit as an Eagle, right?
Well, yes to the pink Chrome Heart jeans — love a man in pink — though they’re kinda boring and I swear my niece just ordered something similar from Shein. (No offense to Shein. So sad about all that shipping drama.)
And the sleeveless graphic T-shirt? Meh.
But the cooler-sized Birkin? I’m drooling.
Cooper DeJean
BF: This rookie Eagles cornerback has wasted no time worming his way into the hearts of Eagles fans by doing two things: Dressing well and being a white cornerback, an NFL rarity that has made DeJean the subject of several well-intentioned memes.
DeJean is already working with a pair of remote stylists from Michigan to hone what is becoming his signature laid back, vintage-y style. DeJean’s pregame outfits almost always have a hint of Eagles green — like the color-blocked Urban Outfitters windbreaker he wore to the divisional playoff game on Jan. 19 — or a dash of humor, like the time and he and Reed Blankenship wore matching “Exciting Whites” t-shirts that fans sent them ahead of the Nov. 14 game against the Commanders.
Before the Eagles routed the New York Giants on Oct. 20, DeJean paired relaxed fit jeans with a vintage shirt honoring retired Eagles safety Brian Dawkins, who ended up praising DeJean for reviving the Eagles defense. What other player can turn a referential fashion choice into a heartfelt moment?

LG: I respect this T-shirt homage to Eagles legend Brian Dawkins, aka “Weapon X.” And the “Exciting Whites” T-shirts were priceless. We all need more laughter in our lives.
This fit is perfect for a 21-year-old rookie from Iowa. T-shirt. Baggy jeans. Are those skater shoes?
But after DeJean’s teammates recover from losing a second Super Bowl to the Chiefs in three seasons, it’s time for him to up his fit game. He needs to be bolder than simply wearing Eagles-green jackets.
I’m surprised to hear that he is working with stylists because this fit lacks pop. I mean, this is what kids in the Kansas City suburbs wear to school.
Maybe DeJean’s QB could share some of his style budget with him?
Jalen Hurts
BF: The Eagles QB 1 already got Super Bowl week off to a stylish start in a fashion battle that had him and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes standing side-by-side in the exact same white track suit. Always detail oriented, Hurts appeared to have ironed and hemmed his pants, giving him the edge over Mahomes in this very unserious match-up.
Hurts’ meticulousness is an essential part of his playing style — and his actual style. The Eagles QB is known for regularly rocking monochromatic pregame fits in perfectly coordinated shades of purple, brown, and light blue. A man of few (but admittedly very inspirational) words, Hurts doesn’t really say much about his fashion inspiration.
Not that he needs to. His outfits speak for themselves.
Ahead of the NFC championship game on Jan. 26, Hurts showed up to the Linc in a Kangol beret, tan trousers (pressed, too, of course), a statement black belt. Very 90s. Very New Jack City. Very classic. No notes.

LG: What can I say about Hurts’ style? The man knows how to dress. Fresh. Clean. Impeccable. He can make a casual hoodie elegant. Chef’s kiss to the purple suits.
I honestly cannot see much of anything I don’t like in this fit. So I’ll let comedian Chris Alan say it.
“Dressed like the special guest ‘boyfriend’ on a 90s black sitcom,” he wrote on X.
Well, OK. That gets the juices flowing.
This viral look is straight from the Wall Street mood board. The only thing keeping this tan suit from being a yawn are the wide legs and pleating.
The leather shoes?
“Hello, my name is Jalen Hurts and I’ll be processing your mortgage today.”
And can we please take a timeout from the Kangols? Please??
As for “my quarterback looked better in his white track suit than yours,” I ask: He irons his track pants?
DeVonta Smith
BF: DeVonta Smith loves suits.
The wide receiver has consistently worn custom made suits for pregame tunnel walks since his professional debut with the Eagles in 2021. Most of them are tailored by his stylist Brian Lunsford, who told ESPN that the secret to Smith’s slim cut fit is a secret zipper sewn into the leg.
Smith said he gets his love for formal wear from having to dress up for church every Sunday and for games at the University of Alabama, where he won two College Football playoffs.
The suits are Smith’s way of standing out. “I’m kind of a quiet guy, but one way I do express myself is in the way I dress,” he told GQ in 2022.
The all-white suit Smith wore to the Eagles’ Nov. 14 victory over the Commanders is a quintessential example of his polished aesthetic, with the monogrammed lapel and brown suede boots adding a bit of whimsy.
LG: I love, love, love — did I say love? — a man in a good suit. When our QB steps off the team plane or walks into an away game in one of his impeccably tailored custom suits, he’s a rock star.
And Smith? At the risk of incurring the wrath of Chiefs fans, this is a perfect 10 for me.
Take me to church because someone clearly set him on the path to fashion glory at an early age. Those days of buying his suits at K&G are blessedly long gone.
“His closet stays stocked with elaborate, detailed suits, each one meticulously made for his liking,” GQ Sports wrote of him in 2023.
The details make this Week 11 fit sing like a church choir to me. His initials in the brooch on his lapel. The boots.
Single-breasted. Double-breasted. Belted jackets. Stripes. Plaid. Eagles-green vests. Is there a suit look that Smith can’t wear well?
I only pray that he has no reason to suit up like this for, say, a ring ceremony, after Sunday’s game.
