Loco moco, Spam musubi, Kalua pig, tuna poke (as well as a vegan poke), and other Hawaiian specialties are the draw at the bustling Poi Dog Snack Shop (100½ S. 21st St.), a brick-and-mortar version of Chris Vacca and Kiki Aranita's popular cart, which recently took over Rotisseur's storefront.
The partners met in the classics program at Bryn Mawr College; he grew up in Delaware and Kennett (making him a Homer), while she is a New York native who's lived in Honolulu and Hong Kong.
It's counter service. There's table seating, though takeout is popular. The shop is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday, plus 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday for brunch.
